What happens when a learner sends a message

SlideMind runs on your WordPress server. Here's the full path a message takes, and what protects it at every step.

Request validated
Your domain is checked against the CORS whitelist. The rate limiter verifies the learner hasn't exceeded the per-IP threshold (60 req/min by default, configurable).
Prompt assembled
WordPress builds the prompt using your system instructions and only the variables you selected. Learner names, emails, and personal data aren't included unless you explicitly add them.
API key decrypted
Your key is stored with AES-256-CBC encryption and a random IV. It's decrypted server-side for this single request. Learners never see it.
Sent to your LLM provider
The request goes directly from your server to the provider you chose. No SlideMind relay. You pick the provider, you read their data policy.
Response returned, content discarded
The learner gets their answer. SlideMind logs token counts, cost, and response time for your analytics. Message content is never stored.
Memory updated (if enabled)
Opt-in learner variables are saved to your WordPress database. Exportable, erasable, and auto-purged through WordPress's native privacy tools. Configurable retention from 7 to 365 days.
