SlideMind + Articulate Rise 360

Give your Rise lessons a voice.

Add an open question with feedback or a practice conversation to your Rise lessons. Set it up in SlideMind, paste it into a Code block, and the widget does the rest.

  • Ready-made widgets
  • No code to write
  • Continue waits for the activity

Inside a Rise lesson

Two activities between your lesson blocks.

Two lessons from a customer service course built in Rise. The numbered notes explain what you set up in SlideMind and what the learner sees.

Q&A

An open question, with feedback.

Submit the example answer: the feedback appears in the widget and Continue unlocks.

Customer service · Lesson 3

Rise 360

Responding to an upset customer

A delivery went wrong. Before offering a solution, show the customer you understand their situation.

Question

A customer’s order arrives damaged. How do you open the conversation?

Your answer

I can send you a replacement.

Partially correct6 / 10
Feedback

You offer a concrete solution. Start by acknowledging the inconvenience as well, so the customer knows you understand their situation.

1

Your question, your criteria

You write the question and what a good answer contains.

See the instructions in SlideMind

Learners never see this text.

In a customer service course, the learner is answering: “A customer’s order arrives damaged. How do you open the conversation?”

A good answer first acknowledges the inconvenience, then offers a concrete next step. In two sentences, point out what the learner did well, then what is missing. Do not give a model answer.

2

Feedback in the widget

SlideMind reads the answer against your instructions. A score and a verdict appear if you turn them on.

3

Continue waits

The next section opens once the learner has seen the feedback.

Chat

A practice conversation, with an ending.

The character reacts to each message. With a message limit, the conversation closes on its end card and Continue unlocks.

Customer service · Lesson 4

Rise 360

Keeping the conversation going

The customer is still upset. Reply in your own words.

Practice: an upset customer
  1. My lamp arrived broken. I needed it for this weekend.
  2. I’m sorry it arrived damaged. I understand you were counting on it.
  3. What can you do? I can’t wait another two weeks.
  4. I can offer a replacement within 48 hours or a refund. Which would you prefer?
  5. A replacement, please. Thank you for sorting it out so quickly.

Activity complete

You acknowledged the problem, then offered the customer a choice.

1

Your character, your rules

You describe the role, what the character knows and how the practice ends.

See the instructions in SlideMind

Learners never see this text.

You play a customer whose lamp arrived broken just before the weekend. Stay upset until the learner acknowledges the problem.

If they offer a concrete solution, accept a replacement and thank them. Keep each reply to one or two sentences.

2

An end card

With a message limit, the conversation closes on a card with your closing message.

3

Continue opens at the end

Rise’s Continue unlocks when the conversation ends.

In your lessons

What you can add to your Rise lessons.

Each activity is a ready-made widget: SlideMind handles the question, the conversation and the feedback, in your course’s colours.

  • An open question with feedback

The learner answers in their own words; the feedback follows your criteria. Three layouts, with an optional score and verdict.

    One AI request per answer
  • A practice conversation

A character the learner talks to, for the number of messages you set, with the ending you choose.

    One AI request per message
  • A Continue that waits

Rise’s Continue block can wait until the learner sees the feedback or finishes the conversation.

    No extra AI request
  • An answer kept for later

Keep the learner’s answer or the conversation, and bring it back in a later activity’s question or instructions.

    No extra AI request

Start with one open question

From SlideMind
to your Rise lesson.

  1. Create the activity in SlideMind.

Choose Q&A or Chat for Rise, write the instructions and set the widget’s look.

  2. Try a few answers.

“Try it” shows the real widget and its feedback before you add it to your lesson.

  3. Paste it into a Rise Code block.

Copy the code SlideMind prepares and paste it as is. To make Continue wait, turn on the block’s completion requirement.

  4. Publish and test in your LMS.

That is where the learner is recognised. Later changes to the instructions or the look apply without pasting the code again.

Each step is detailed in the documentation. Read the documentation

Before you start

What your first Rise activity needs.

  • A SlideMind accountDiscovery is free, with no credit card needed.
  • Rise 360 with Code blocksRise’s Code block requires a standard Articulate 360 AI licence.
  • An LMS or SCORM Cloud for testingRise’s preview and Review 360 do not recognise the learner.
  • An LMS that recognises the learnerTo keep answers for a later activity. Q&A and Chat respond without it.

Practical questions

Before you build.

Do I need to write code?

No. SlideMind prepares the code; you paste it into a Rise Code block as is.

Which Rise licence do I need?

Rise’s Code block requires a standard Articulate 360 AI licence. See Articulate’s requirements

Is the result sent to the LMS?

No. The score and verdict are shown to the learner in the widget; SlideMind does not pass them to Rise or your LMS. The activity can, however, unlock Rise’s Continue block.

Do I need an LMS?

Not for Q&A and Chat: the widget also responds in Rise’s preview, Review 360 or a shared link. Keeping answers for a later activity needs an LMS, because it tells SlideMind who the learner is.

Why test in the LMS rather than Rise’s preview?

The preview does not provide the learner’s identity, so nothing is kept for later. Test the complete journey, Continue included, in your published course.

Can the widget speak French?

Yes. Every text the learner reads, error messages included, appears in English or French, set for your workspace or for one slide. The AI answers in the language of your instructions.

Does a conversation pick up where the learner left off?

No. When the learner comes back, the widget starts a new conversation. If you keep the conversation, a later activity can build on it.

Can I change the activity after publishing?

Yes. The instructions, the look and the layout are read each time the lesson loads: no need to paste the code again.

Keep the idea going.

Add an activity to your next lesson.

Start with an open question or a short role-play. Configure the widget in SlideMind, then try it in your Rise course.
