SlideMind + Articulate Storyline

Bring AI and memory to your Storyline slides.

Add feedback on open answers, practice conversations and learner memory to the courses you already build. Your slides, your triggers and your LMS stay in charge.

  • Your own slide design
  • No code to write
  • Your triggers decide what’s next

A feedback activity, step by step

One question, on your own slide.

A workplace communication course built in Storyline. The learner writes what they would say first; SlideMind responds according to your instructions, and your course decides what comes next.

Storyline

Open question

A colleague misses a deadline. What would you say first to open the conversation?

I’d ask what got in the way and agree on a new deadline.

SlideMind

You set the direction.

Instructions for the AI

In SlideMind. Learners never see this text.

In an online workplace communication course, the learner is answering: “A colleague misses a deadline. What would you say first to open the conversation?”

Evaluate only the answer provided. Identify a constructive intention, then check whether the learner gives words to say to their colleague or simply describes what they would do.

If the opening sentence is missing, ask them to write it. Address the learner respectfully in two sentences: one strength, then one improvement. Do not attribute words or actions to them that are absent from their answer.

Storyline

On your slides

What you can add to your Storyline course.

Start with one slide. Each activity is set up in SlideMind and takes its place in the course you already have.

  • Feedback on an open answer

The learner answers in their own words; the feedback follows your criteria and tone.

    One AI request per answer
  • A practice conversation

A character the learner talks to on your slide, for the number of exchanges you set.

    One AI request per message
  • A result for your triggers

A score, a verdict or another value you define, to branch, unlock the Next button or feed your own scoring.

    No extra AI request
  • A detail for the next course

A goal or a choice saved for that learner, to bring back in another course.

    No AI needed

Two integration paths

Two ways into Storyline.

On your own slides

Keep your text field, your button and your feedback layer. SlideMind prepares the code for a trigger on your slide: a question with feedback, a conversation, or values saved without AI.

For full control of the design and of what happens next.

Explore Dialogue Engine

With the ready-made widget

Insert the folder SlideMind prepares as a Web Object: the widget shows the question or the conversation, and the feedback. Your course knows when the activity is finished and receives the values you define, after each reply in a conversation, and the verdict of a question. The Next button can wait and your triggers can branch.

Changes to your instructions or to the widget’s look apply without inserting it again.

Explore the widgets

In both cases, SlideMind recognises the learner when your LMS launches the published course, and your triggers decide what comes next.

Start with one open question

From your slide to your published course.

  1. Write your instructions.

Describe the activity, what a good answer contains and the tone to use. Add a score or a verdict if your course will use one.

  2. Try a few answers.

In SlideMind, “Try it” shows the feedback and what your slide will receive, before you integrate anything.

  3. Add it to your slide.

Paste the code SlideMind prepares into a trigger, or insert the widget folder as a Web Object. The documentation shows each step.

  4. Publish and test.

Storyline’s preview does not run the activity. Publish to your LMS or SCORM Cloud and try it as a learner.

Each step is detailed in the documentation. Read the documentation

Memory Engine

Give a useful detail
a place in the next course.

A goal or a choice made in one course can come back in the next one: in your text, or in the rules that choose the next slide. Saving and retrieving it do not use AI.

Your LMS must recognise the same learner in both courses, and both courses must be in the same SlideMind workspace.

Follow a goal across two courses

Example learning design

  1. 01

    Course one: set a goal.

The learner chooses to practise asking clearer questions.

  2. 02

    SlideMind keeps it.

The goal is saved for that learner, without AI.

  3. 03

    Course two: revisit the goal.

Retrieve it for a reflection prompt or a practice activity you design.

Before you start

What your first Storyline activity needs.

  • A SlideMind accountDiscovery is free, with no credit card needed.
  • A Storyline courseThe course you already build, with the slide that will host the activity.
  • An LMS or SCORM Cloud for testingStoryline’s preview does not run the activity.
  • An LMS that recognises the learnerFor memory from one course to the next. AI activities work without it.

Discuss your Storyline setup

Practical questions

Before you build.

Do I need to rebuild my Storyline course?

No. Start with one slide. On your own slides, you keep your layout and add the activity where you want it; the widget takes its place in a Web Object.

Should I use my own slides or the widget?

Your own slides give you full control of the design and of how the feedback appears. The widget gives you a ready-made interface quickly, and its look is set in SlideMind. In both cases, your triggers decide what comes next.

Do I need to write code?

No. SlideMind prepares the code or the widget folder. You add it to your slide, and the documentation shows where.

Can I test in Storyline’s preview?

Not the complete activity: the preview does not run the code on your slides, and the widget only recognises the learner in the published course. Use “Try it” in SlideMind to refine the responses, then publish to your LMS or SCORM Cloud.

Does SlideMind set the learner’s LMS score?

No. SlideMind returns the feedback and, if you define them, a score or a verdict. Your Storyline triggers and scoring rules decide what reaches your LMS. Review AI-generated feedback before using it for assessment.

Will this work in every LMS?

SlideMind recognises the learner in courses launched through SCORM, xAPI or cmi5. In Review 360 or a course published to the web, activities still respond, but memory stays off because no learner is identified. Test the complete journey in your own LMS.

Is learner memory the same as conversation history?

No. A conversation keeps its own exchanges while it lasts. Memory Engine keeps the details you choose, such as a goal, for later courses.

Keep the idea going.

Bring one Storyline activity.

Start with a question worth answering. Build the feedback around your learning objective, then test it in your own course.
